SUSAN SCAFATI is an American conceptual artist who explores the ways in which individual versus collective identities, personal versus cultural mythologies, are constructed. Subjects which have provided a framework for these interests include smart phones, social media, personal archives, domestic spaces, and bullfights. Across these bodies of work, she deconstructs the iconography and materiality that contribute to the way meaning is organized. Her artwork is exhibited in galleries and museums.
